Saxophone with Instructor Jessica Robins - 6pm Fridays

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Jessica Robins was born into a musical and loving household. With music in the family, Ms.

Robins naturally followed suit by taking piano lessons at the age of 3 and taking saxophone

lessons at 7. Curiosity and the love of music drove Ms. Robins to experiment playing other

instruments. Her talents grew through participation in school bands and in The Detroit

Symphony Orchestra’s Civic Jazz Orchestra I under the direction of world-renowned bassist,

Rodney Whitaker. Her gift of music allowed for opportunities for performances across North

America including performing at Carnegie Hall in New York. Ms. Robins attended Michigan

State University on a full scholarship to become a music educator. After earning a Bachelor of

Music in music education, Ms. Robins resurrected the music program at Mumford High School,

in Detroit, MI. While directing various ensembles at Mumford, Ms. Robins performed concerts,

completed a Master of Divinity at Moody Theological Seminary, served as director and/or

musician at different music ministries, and started a business that focuses on music education

and performance called Auditory Art, LLC. She is certified by the state of Michigan to teach

band, orchestra, and choir in grades K-12 and a rating of “highly effective” has been obtained.

Ms. Robins aspires to help others express themselves through music and coach them to reach
